White Trash is more of a socio-economic slur. I see Honky at about the same level as "boy," where the animosity is just under the surface. I think Cracker is the racist one. Even the way it's pronounced, with the short, sharp vowels and percussive syllables, really lets the user lean into it, make it sound really angry.
